If you grew up during the 90s or 2000s then you watched cartoons and a majority of those cartoons may have been on Nicktoons on Nickelodeon. While the shows on Nickelodeon have changed over time, they still have a lineup that you won’t find on any other station.

SpongeBob, Avatar, Ren & Stimpy, and a wide collection of Nickelodeon game shows, sometimes we want to watch some of these classics from our childhood. But now we are older and paying the bills ourselves, and most of us are cutting costs by cutting the cord.

What if I told you that you can cut the cord and still find all your Nick favorites?

They are still out there, and in more places than you think. So if you have an internet connection and are looking for a blast from the past, let us be your guide.

How Can You Watch Nickelodeon Online Without Cable?

To watch Nickelodeon online you will need to sign up for a video streaming service. Many different streaming services carry Nickelodeon live so your choices are not limited.

There are plenty of on-demand and live tv streaming services that offer a way to watch Nickelodeon shows bypassing your cable TV provider in the process.

What Streaming Services Have Nickelodeon?

DirecTV Stream

DirecTV Stream is the best of both worlds. While it is a streaming service, it’s the one that most resembles a traditional television viewing experience. This is good for people who want to get their entertainment through streaming but aren’t ready to jump in with both feet yet.

The important thing here is that Nickelodeon is available on DirecTV Stream. There are no contracts that will make you commit to this service and it is cheaper than what most cable providers offer.

Philo

Another way to stream Nickelodeon online without breaking the bank is Philo. One reason Philo stays cheap is that they don’t provide channels that cost a lot to carry. If you don’t watch sporting events or mainstream news then it is a cheap easy way to get a lot of your favorite programming, including Nickelodeon.

Hulu + Live TV

Hulu has been around almost since streaming began. It’s very easy for children and adults to use Hulu Live TV.

Going with Hulu to stream Nickelodeon is a strong choice because Hulu has plenty of extras. They have several packages available and a more robust program schedule than most other services.

If you are interested in getting a huge package of available content and networks then check out Hulu to see what else they have to offer.

FuboTV

Regardless of what you use to stream television, FuboTV should available on most devices. Like Hulu, FuboTV has many additional networks to bundle up and Nickelodeon is one of those networks.

ViacomCBS is the parent company of Nickelodeon and FuboTV has a solid deal with them.

Paramount Plus

As I just noted, ViacomCBS is the parent company of Nickelodeon. ViacomCBS is also the parent company of Paramount. While you won’t find Nickelodeon content playing all day and night on Paramount Plus, many Nickelodeon shows are available on demand.

Youtube TV

Being owned by Google, you would think that YouTube TV is bigger than it is. I am not talking about youtube.com, but rather their paid streaming service. Several networks are available and Nickelodeon is one of them.

With YouTube TV you get Nickelodeon, NickToons, and Nick Jr.

Sling TV

Nickelodeon is on Sling TV. Whether you are looking for Nicktoons or programs that are on TeenNick then Sling TV has you covered. With service starting at $35 a month, this is a great alternative to cable if you want to save money.

Sign Up And Start Streaming!

These are some of the streaming services where you can watch Nickelodeon without cable. While you can watch them on any computer, most of you will be using a Smart TV or some type of streaming device Roku, Chromecast, or Amazon Fire TV stick that allows you to watch online content on your television.

Most of the plans we discussed above will work with whatever device you use to watch Live TV once you cut the cord, but below are the exceptions:

  • DirecTV Stream will work on every device except Android TV.
  • You can watch Nickelodeon on Roku as long as you are not using Youtube TV.
  • Other than these two combinations, the previously discussed plans will work on whatever device you use to watch live TV.

What About The Other Nickelodeon Channels?

Most of the services discussed above will have other channels with Nick programming like NickJR and NickToons. Since there are exceptions, make sure you know what you will be getting before you sign up.

Some of these services also offer free trials. I recommend taking advantage of those trials to help you pick which of these services best fits your Nickelodeon needs.
