What is unfortunate about everybody is they eventually reach their peak. Once you begin going downhill, you never reach the amount of notoriety that you had when you were at on top. The same can be said for the actress named Kristin Kreuk.

If you watched the WB or CW on Thursday evenings between 2001 and 2011 then you may have caught the show: “Smallville”.

Kristin Kreuk was a main character for the first seven seasons, made appearances during the eighth season, and then we never saw her again.

For those who may not remember, Kristin Kreuk played Lana Lang who was Clark Kents’ love interest since childhood.

In the television show, she had to leave when she became infected with Kryptonite which would kill Clark if she didn’t stay away from him.

Kristin Kreuk was nominated for her roles in “Smallville” in 2007 and 2008 but she failed to come home with the Choice TV actress award.

What Happened To Kristin Kreuk After Smallville?

After Smallville Kristin Kreuk continued acting both on TV and in Movies. She has had major roles in hits such as The Legend of Chun-Li, Beauty And The Beast, and Burden Of Truth to name a few. She has also seen success as a producer.

Let’s look at what she has accomplished since then.

Kristin’s first mainstream project after Smallville was “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li” where she portrayed Chun-Li as an adult. This movie was not a huge success, bringing in under 13 million dollars when it had an 18 million dollar budget.

After appearing as Chun-Li in “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li”, she appeared in two television series. She portrayed Tirzah in the television mini-series: “Ben Hur.” She also made multiple appearances in the television show: “Chuck” as the character Hannah.

It wasn’t until 2011 that Kristin appeared on the silver screen again. Her next movie was “Vampire” portraying Maria Lucas. Vampire was released at Sundance Film Festival and won awards; Festival Prize at Strasbourg International Film Festival and Special Mention for Feature Film at the Fantasia Film Festival.

In that same year, Kristin appeared in “Irvine Welsh’s Ecstasy.” She portrayed Heather Thompson. Despite having a one million dollar budget, the movie only brought in thirty-six thousand dollars during its opening weekend.

2011 was a busy year for her as she was also involved in the documentary “Blink.” She isn’t named in the cast but she was one of five executive producers. There is no information on how well this movie performed.

From 2012 to 2016, Kristin Kreuk appeared in the television show: Beauty and The Beast. She had a main role as Catherine Chandler and appeared in 70 episodes. Kristin was the producer of this show as well.

Kristin’s last appearance in a full-length film was in 2012 in “Space Milkshake.” Kristin was also an executive producer and portrayed Tilda on the screen. However, after an unsuccessful release at the London MCM Expo, the movie went straight to television and exclusively in Canada.

Kristin was nominated for the Choice TV awards for her work on Beauty and The Beast at the Teen Choice Awards in 2013 and 2014. Kristin would win Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Television actress in 2014 and 2015 at the People’s Choice Awards.

In 2015, Kristin had a guest role on the television show: Robot Chicken. She voiced Oblina and Catherine Chandler. Kristin only voiced characters in one episode.

In 2017 Kristin appeared in her last film ‘The Emissary.” Where she portrayed the Emissary. Around this time, Kristin also voiced Shuyan in the video game Shuyan Saga. 

Off the screen, Kristin was rumored to have connections with the alleged sex trafficking cult organization named NXIVM but claimed she had left the organization in 2013 when the founder was arrested in 2018. Kristin also had very little contact with other members and said she didn’t witness any crimes herself.

From January 2018 until March 2021, Kristin would star as Joanna Hanley in “Burden Of Truth.” She also was the executive producer of this television show.

In 2019, she was nominated for the Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series by The Canadian Screen Awards for her role in “Burden Of Truth.” She also won the Canadian Award of Distinction from the Rockie Awards for her acting in “Burden Of Truth”, “Eurotrip” and “Smallville.”

Is Kristin Kreuk Still Acting?

Kristin Kreuk is still acting. She has appeared in many films and movies over the last decade. While none of these shows got her as much attention as “Smallville” and “Street Fighter: Legend Of Chun-Li” she continues to have a successful acting and producing career to this day.
