Saved by the Bell is an American television sitcom that first aired in 1989. The show depicts a group of friends attending Bayside High School.

It’s a light-hearted 90s comedy, that bravely touches on some serious social issues. Everything from drug addiction, under-age drinking, homelessness, women’s rights, second marriages, and even environmental issues.

What Is The Best Episode Of Saved By The Bell?

There were many good episodes of Saved By The Bell that stood out. It lasted 4 seasons and 85 awesome episodes. So many in fact, that it was hard to pick just one (or five), so expect another list in the future). But for now, these are our

Top 5 Episodes Of Saved By The Bell

Fake I.D.s (Season 3, Episode 9)

Zack falls for a college girl at The Max, so obviously, the next task is to get Screech to make fake IDs for the guys to enter an over-18 club, The Attic. The gang plans everything out and after some scheming, they are off to the club.

The night of fun takes a downturn when the guys see Kelly’s older boyfriend Jeff dancing with another girl. Do they tell Kelly or keep their secret?

This was always one of my favorite episodes. What kid (at any age) doesn’t dream of getting a fake ID and sneaking into somewhere they are not supposed to be.

The Prom (Season 2, Episode 1)

Confused between Zack and Slater, Kelly has to choose her date for the prom. Of course, she chooses Zack, but Kelly’s father loses her job and their family is in serious financial trouble, so much so that she can not afford a prom dress.

There is quite a bit of tension between the two as Kelly tells Zack she is not going but is too embarrassed to provide the real reason why. Once Zack finds out, he does something no one expects and plans a perfect surprise for her prom night.

This is such a great episode because it solidifies most of the relationships on the show, and while it does not really change the tone or underlying theme of the show, it opened up the writers to explore new stories.

The Fight (Season 4, Episode 1)

It is amazing that with all the heat between Zack and Slater that there has been only one real fight in the whole series. That fight, of course, is about a girl (and it’s not even Kelly!).

In The Fight, the tensions between these two increase until BOOM! As cheesy as this fight scene ends up being, it is one of the most memorable episodes of the show, and it is surprising to see Zack hold his own in what you would think is a one-sided fight.

Jessie’s Song (Season 2, Episode 9)

If you were a boy, you probably remember the aerobic music video starring Jessie, Lisa, and Kelly. Yeah, that was this episode. But Jessie’s Song is memorable for a few other reasons.

Not being able to cope with all the pressures of being an overachiever, Jessie turns to drugs (sort of).

Ignoring warnings from her friends, she eventually suffers the iconic “I’m so excited… I’m so scared” break down. There were some emotionally touching moments.

After some counseling (for caffeine pills?) Jessie comes to an understanding that no one is perfect, and drugs are never the way.

Graduation (Season 4, Episode 26)

The Graduation was the final episode of the original series and a fitting farewell. Realizing he needs one more credit to graduate, Zack turns to dance class (more specifically ballet). From there it is the regular Save By The Bell hijinx.

Meanwhile, there is some confusion over who is to be valedictorian, and when Jesse starts letting the honor go to her head, Lisa sticks up for Screech and sets her straight.

Graduation was a perfect final episode for a show that revolves around the ups and downs of high school life. Thankfully they didn’t try to milk the popularity of the series with some crappy spin-offs…
