Meet Shaun

Hi there. I’m Shaun, and I am the lead editor and contributor at 8 Bit Pickle.

I live in Toronto, Ontario, where I grew up in the 80s and 90s. I loved the 80s. Saturday morning cartoons, sugary cereal, Atari, and boxes of toys.

At 15 I got my first job in one of Canada’s largest arcades. With about 100 cabinets and 20 pinball machines, it was my job to make sure everything stayed up and running.

Fast forward 25 years later and I am still working in the gaming industry with a successful online store.

While looking for ways to promote my website I learned about a whole world of bloggers and content writers that were not just selling products, but were sharing information and building communities. And so 8 Bit Pickle was created.

While I am a retro gamer at heart, my love for nostalgia does not end there. With 3 boys in my home there are still plenty of cartoons, toy boxes, and sugary cereal in this house, and yes even an Atari.
